My Place of Peace

I walk in silent meditation on a dirt path littered with stones that have been embedded there for years. I can hear the waterfall in the distance. Suddenly, I feel a gust of cold air dance past my body. There is a sudden change in temperature and the air is dense with vapor. I am getting near.

As I approach, the falling water pushes the air towards me, inviting me closer. It is here that I have reached the gateway which parallels my inner peace.

Sitting at the basin of the waterfall, the cool mist brushes against my face telling me a story only I can understand. I listen intently as the water crashes down. The sound of its powerful force is gentle to my ears. The mist washes over me.

Beyond the waterfall are several more falls, layered above and behind. The water sweeps away from the cliffs by the rushing wind escaping the gorge.

I feel a cool breeze pushing against my side, whipping my hair from the nape of my neck. Small green leaves are swept from the cliffs and gently float down. I see the air filled with delicate green confetti, twirling down like little ballerinas doing pirouettes. They lightly fall around me, showering me with glittering serenity. Some even tap me gently like true love's kiss.

The ferns beside me become curtains for a private dance of trickling water. Their fronds look like flirting eyelashes. A breath of wind rushes by blowing water from above. The drops of water fall upon me. It feels like rain on my face when there is not a cloud in the sky.

This is my place of peace. It is filled with magic.
